Oh my God!!! I can't believe how horrible I have been at updating my page. But I do have a fairly good excuse... I was out of the country! I mean, out of Italy, traveling around Europe. And yes, they do have internet cafes all over the place but I've barely had a moment to breathe and to keep up with my email, let alone update a web page. But I have resolved to be better. And what better place to keep that resolution than Paris! Oui, mes amis -- c'est vrai... je vous ecris de Paris! I've had to brush up on my Francais a bit -- hopefully that correctly translates to "Yes my friends, it's true... I'm writing you all from Paris!" I've always dreamed of coming here... but I still wasn't prepared for this place. The streets are so narrow some places it feels totally claustrophobic. I can't believe how close people live to each other. Of course, the hotel room is splendid. It even has a bidet in the salle de bains. And if you don't know what that is... I'm not explaining it ;) Every morning we get room service delivered up to our suite with a croissant and cafe au lait. I tried some French food... but the sauces are so thick I couldn't eat anything for the rest of the day. So last night we went out for Vietnamese food which believe it or not is plentiful around Paris -- and I loved it! We spent yesterday waiting on a huge line to get into the Louvre -- Aunt Georgia wanted to ditch it but I insisted we stay and I was glad we did. I can't believe I saw the REAL Mona Lisa! Naturally we visited the other attractions -- the Arc de Triomphe , the Eiffel Tower... and of course, my favorite part... shopping on the Champs-Elysees. There's so much to tell and not enough time -- I'll write more as soon as I can... Miss you all terribly. A bientot!
