Oh my god. I can't believe someone actually lived here!! Well, my little excursion to France wouldn't be complete without a trip to one of the most amazing palaces in the world. I thought Hearst Castle was pretty amazing -- but it doesn't compare to the splendor of the home of Louis XIV. I'll spare you the French history lesson... but suffice it to say the guy might have made some questionable personal chioces but his decorating choices were primo! I went with my Italian friend Cetta, who I'm travelling with -- she's the daughter of one of my aunt's friends -- and we had a blast on the guided tour. Then we went out for a very classy dinner and tried to fool the waiter into thinking we were French. It didn't work; by the end of the dinner I don't think he even believed Cetta was Italian! I guess you probably had to be there to get the full extent of the humor of the situation... but take my word for it -- it was really funny. But tomorrow we head back to Italy -- so I'm going to go enjoy what's left of my time here...
